Nic & Thyme

Nic and Thyme. Thus named as the picture shows, they were tied to the excavator meant to bury them after they were shot. This was paid for by their previous owner who sold the property and didn’t want them, anymore.

Luckily, our VP received a phone call from the man paid to do this. He did not want to shoot these sweet and perfectly healthy horses. He had the gun in his hand when she called him back 20 minutes later. He was very grateful he did not have to kill them, and then two days later brought them down to the main ranch. That was in June 2022.

When they showed up, we noticed that the chestnut, “Nic”, slowed down, and did not want to come out of the trailer. It was obvious he couldn’t see, or was very limited. With just a moment to give him the chance, he walked right out.

These are two well handled, kind and gentle horses. It’s a shame their loyalty was to be met with a shot to the head.

We are very happy to have saved them, but would really love to find them a permanent home – TOGETHER (as she is his seeing eye horse). They are so gentle and good once they know you!

If you cannot provide a home, they could sure use a sponsor!

Nic is 20yo and Thyme around 17yo per vet.
They are current on all care.
